LingravelixMultilingual websites, planned properly

One website.Every language.Clearly mapped.

Lingravelix plans and designs websites for organisations in Switzerland that need to reach readers in German, French, Italian, English or more: one structure behind every version, a switcher people can find, and the signals that send each reader to the right page.

Why plan the languages first

Your readers do not share one language.

Switzerland has four national languages, and Federal Statistical Office figures from the 2023 Structural Survey show German as a main language of 61 percent of residents, French 23 percent and Italian 8 percent, with English named by about 6 percent. A site that only works in one of them leaves part of its audience reading in a second language, or leaving.

Choosing which languages to offer

What a multilingual site needs

  • Language tags on every page
  • A switcher named in each language
  • Hreflang with return links
  • Dates, numbers and CHF prices per locale
  • Layouts tested with longer text
  • Mirrored pages for right-to-left scripts

How a project runs

Six stages, in the right order.

The order matters more than the speed: structure before design, design before translation, translation before launch checks.

The process in detail
  1. First reply

You describe the site; a free email says whether we could help.

  2. Written quote

A fixed price and the deliverables, before any deposit.

  3. Map the languages

Which languages, which pages, which addresses, and who writes each version.

  4. Design for every version

Templates tested with long German words and right-to-left text before anyone signs them off.

  5. Place the translations

Your translators deliver; we put each text into its page and review it in the layout.

  6. Check and launch

Hreflang, sitemaps, switchers, formats and forms are checked in every language.

Fictional examples

One site. Three language regions.

Three invented organisations show how one structure can serve German-, French- and Italian-speaking readers. None of them is a client.

Short answers

Before you write to us

More in the full list of questions.

Do you translate the content?

No. Lingravelix designs and builds the multilingual structure. The words come from translators you appoint, or from your own bilingual staff, and we place and check them.

Can you add French to our existing German site?

It is a project of its own: new templates or settings, a switcher, hreflang and a translation handover. The language structure review is a sensible first step to see what the current site can carry.

Which languages should a Swiss site offer?

That depends on who you serve, not on the number of national languages. Our guide to Swiss languages walks through the questions that settle it.

How are prices shown?

In Swiss francs, as starting points on the pricing page, plus VAT where applicable. Each project gets a written quote before any deposit.

Planning a site in more than one language?

Tell us which languages you need and what the site has to do. Our first answer arrives by email, costs nothing and says whether we can help.
